about us

I’m Vanessa Morris and I’m an independent accountant based in Stockport and I wanted to tell you about myself and why I want to help your business.

After having worked in numerous accountancy practices for over 10 years and becoming ACCA qualified in 2014, a few years ago I decided it was time to put the hours into running my own business, rather than someone else’s. So whilst on maternity leave, I took the plunge and I decided to follow my dreams and Morris Accountancy Services was born.

My passion has always been small to medium sized businesses, and before retiring, my dad ran his own small business and so I grew up understanding how much hard work it takes to get a business off the ground and just how many different hats a small business owner needs to wear to keep it running successfully.

OUR WHY

Helping new businesses start-up is what really makes me tick, whether it be hairdressers or graphic designers, sole traders or limited companies. Having been through it myself, I know it’s not an easy process but I’m here to support businesses of all shapes and sizes get off to a great start.

And once you’re up and running it’s my job to help you understand your business accounts, leaving you with more time to concentrate on what you do best: running your business! I pride myself on straight-talking, jargon-free advice and it’s important to me that all my clients feel comfortable to pick up the phone and ask any questions they may have, however silly they might think they are! And you can rest assured that a hefty fee won’t land on your door mat after the call.

OUR APPROACH

Whether you manage your own bookkeeping and accounts, or you’d like me to manage everything, I’m able to create personalised packages to suit the needs of each of my clients. I’m also a QuickBooks and Xero partner and I can provide day-to-day support and training, as well as fantastic offers on these accountancy packages.

Plus, with a wide variety of clients and a trusted network of small businesses and freelancers, I’m well-placed to point you in the right direction when you need it – whether it’s an IT consultant to update your software, a social media expert to help you elevate your marketing or even a driving instructor for your kids, I have a wealth of local contacts I can put you in touch with.

When I’m not in the office, most of my time is spent with my young daughter and partner, we love exploring the local countryside together and when we’re not doing that, you can find me baking in the kitchen!
